March was commissioned by The Monogram Collection to create a visual identity and develop an eCommerce website to demonstrate their innovation and increase online sales.
The Monogram Collection is a small, boutique retailer providing custom monogramming on a selection of handpicked, premium goods, ranging from homeware to childrens clothing to pet accessories.
The company had been operating offline by word-of-mouth for some years and wanted to increase sales and brand awareness by moving operations online. We were asked to review an existing E-commerce solution which had been commissioned, but never launched, some three years previous. After review we advised that the redundant site be replaced with a more flexible and manageable system, whilst re-working the visual identity in the process.
We created a logotype and monogram to reflect the brand vision and reinforce their status as a contemporary, aspirational brand.
The identity was used across online and offline mediums, including business cards printed on a luxury 600gsm fine mohawk stock.
Wireframes for the new website were produced to show content layout and typical customer journey. These low fidelity mocks were then translated into high fidelity designs, combining the new brand identity with ecommerce best practice and delivery of TMC’s unique USP; custom monogramming options.
After our initial wireframes and high fidelity prototypes were approved our next step was to develop the website using the Shopify platform. Shopify is a hosted commerce solution that allows for flexible and dynamic templating based around a stable, reliable and easy to use order management platform.
The configuration of the new online store was completed on the client’s behalf and the store launched with a complete catalogue of 37 items, each with bespoke monogram options; including thread colour, font style and lettering.
March also configured a POS system using Shopify's EMV card reader which allowed the client to take offline payments. This was proven to be a real success at a recent event at the prestigious members club 5 Hertford Street, where an increase in sales of 700% was taken on the day, compared to the monthly average - a true success.
